What is Safe Routes to School?
Safe Routes to School (SRTS) helps make walking and biking to school safe, healthy, and fun for kids and families. The program supports students who want to walk or bike by improving streets, crossings, and school areas, and by encouraging safe travel habits.
Safe Routes to School benefits the whole community. When more kids walk or bike, there is less traffic around schools, cleaner air, and safer streets for everyone. Students get more physical activity, build confidence, and learn how to travel safely and independently.
